Romantic Rendezvous A Weekend of Love and Luxury in Madrid

A weekend is great and a weekend with your significant other in Madrid is even better! This article will help you to make 2 days of the weekend the most interesting and intense. The capital of Spain is very lively, here in the evening begins another life, from which you can safely stand in traffic on the road at 4 am. Night bars, pubs, clubs – their work almost 24/7 is commonplace in Madrid.

Today you will read about the places to visit if you want to spend the coolest and most efficient time with your other half in Madrid. But before we start discussing this in more detail, we advise you to simplify your life before your trip by booking a transfer from Madrid airport (https://atobtransfer.com/spain/madrid-airport-transfers/), don’t think about organisational issues during your holiday, don’t worry about the price (because it’s fixed) and enjoy comfort with a guarantee of time.

Now we can get down to Madrid.

Day One!

You can start with a classic for every tourist, it’s a tour of the city and its sights. Because this is the base that every person travelling to Madrid should have. Let’s walk through these places:

MUSEO DEL PRADO. If in Paris everyone goes to the Louvre, this is the place to go in Madrid. Get inspired by the paintings of popular artists together with your other half. We are sure that for the real connoisseurs of culture, this place will leave a strong essay. Tip: to avoid standing for hours in the queue, buy your ticket in advance on their official website.  To fully enjoy this place, allocate about 3-4 hours of time because the museum has 9000 canvases and 700 sculptures.

Las Ventas Arena. This place is considered in principle the national pride of Spain. Bullfighting nowadays has a lot of those who are for it and against it, everyone decides for himself to watch it or not. But as life shows, the condemnation of this activity does not prevent it from being held and gaining quite a large audience. This round arena is something similar to the Roman amphitheatres, it looks quite spectacular, you should definitely visit even just because of the beauty and historicity of this place. You’ll get a sense of history right before you enter when you see the monuments to the matadors, one of them, Bienvenida, who killed over 2000 in his life and met his death on the horns of a cow who was protecting her child. You will definitely find it interesting and unusual there!

Plaza de España. It is clear that everyone will visit it anyway, but the advice is: stay there a little longer than everyone else. After all, it is the biggest square in Madrid and in Spain in general. Don’t forget to take a photo against the backdrop of the Madrid Tower (which by the way is the tallest in Europe), look at the “España” building and of course, the Gaillard House. Or just sit in a romantic atmosphere, near the fountains and feel that while you are watching people going about their business in a romantic atmosphere – time has slowed down.

These are the three most basic (subjectively) places that every tourist should definitely go to for a better understanding of the culture and atmosphere of the country. But still, if you can get round the places pretty quickly in 1 weekend, we advise you to go to the zoo. What is it remarkable for? It is one of the oldest zoos in the world, imagine how many events it has seen (1770). And the most important reason the park has so many people is the pandas. That’s a luxury for nature these days, unfortunately, let alone for a park. We advise you to go!

Day two!

So, the first part of the weekend you have familiarised yourself with the city and its history. Now let’s get more about something fun and themed. Let’s get started:

Punto Límite. Spice things up, try the extreme sport of rock climbing. The place we suggested has levels of varying difficulty and a complete sense of safety. Support each other, conquer fear and reach a new level of trust and relationship!

De Madrid al Cielo Sky bar. After the extreme, you can have an extreme and romantic meal at the same time. Go to this bar and enjoy delicious food and drinks from one of the tallest buildings in Madrid. Tip: keep an eye out for their events that take place almost every night, you might find yourself at some cool party and even meet the sunrise.

Cine Doré. This is a 20’s art house cinema that very few tourists know about. This is what you need on day 2 of your holiday! Go there and enjoy the atmosphere, the cinema is open – you can see any film you want (because it rents films from all over the world). Prices are also very nice, 2-3 euros, and if you buy a season ticket it will be even cheaper. The dubbing is English, with Spanish subtitles. It will be unusual and romantic! 0 banality.

El Rastro de Madrid street market.  In fact, the market is more than just a place to buy food (for a tourist in a foreign country). Often, it is a special atmosphere that opens the door to the real life of the locals and their culture, all very far from the tourist business. And of course, it has its own touch of romance, so make sure you go there with your other half. El Rastro de Madrid offers a unique atmosphere where you can buy not only food, but also antiques, rare items and other unusual things. Who knows, maybe on your romantic walk to this place you will find an item worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from some nice grandmother who will give it to you for 3 euros.
